"Mackinac believes that athletics are meant not merely to thrill the spectator, or set world records, or even satisfy the individual performer, but also to instill and develop in young men and women the courage, discipline, self-reliance, all-out-ness, and integrity needed to prepare for leadership.
Mackinac College is represented in intercollegiate competition in basketball, wrestling, tennis, golf, and cross-country running, with immediate plans for expansion into ice hockey, skiing, and soccer.
The intramural program has sixteen sports for team competition and round-robin tournaments to complement the required program of Physical Education.
The campus is located in an excellent winter sports area. Students are encouraged to use the surrounding facilities."
